The DID 520ERVT breaks the traditional concept of the original motocross chain (non O-ring) by adding the real-world benefits of an X-Ring seal. The X-Ring helps keep lubrication sealed inside the chain while limiting dirt and mud from getting between the side plates—ideal for motocross and enduro conditions where grit and water quickly accelerate wear.
Compared to a classic O-ring design, the X-Ring has fewer contact points with the side plates (4 points), which helps reduce friction for a smoother, more efficient power transfer. DID also tuned the materials to make the 520ERVT 2% lighter and deliver a 15% longer lifespan while maintaining strong tensile strength—so you get durability without giving up performance.
